Looking at getting sky.  Have a 46" LCD so need a component connection.  But also I'd like to hook it to my PVR via svideo for recording.

Any recommendation on model numbers?

Currently the best video quality is available from the mysky HDI which offers 720/1080i upscaling of SD and 1080i HD broadcasts.

If you are wanting to save the extra $15/month (+$10 if you take the HD) then i reccomend the DSR230NNZ, or commonly called a Silver Pace, this is a much smaller unit and supports component out,

please note however that pretty much all sky channels are heavily compressed and pixalation is something that can't be avoided due to this

just make sure you ask the tech to install it with component, Most of us (well the good ones anyway) would do this straight out for a TV like you mention

And all decoders have support for svideo via the "VCR" scart connector

thanks, the pace 230 was what people had recommended to me, so when they ring to confirm my installation I'll ask for that, and the component cable.

Personally, for me,  I can't see the point of myskyhdi yet, not having sport or movies the other other hd channel would be tv3 and I already have that in hd, and tv1 and tv2.  And I can record combinations of those as well.
