yup..when ever thr fridge starts or stops...the mysky hdi goes blank...then frost then resumes after about 30 seconds. I rang sky customer services who arranged a techo to call around. he replaced the decoder and for a few hrs all was well..but then following day...fridge starts, tv goes blank, then frosts then resumes albeit after 10 seconds now

obviously and electromagnetic pulse from the fridge motor is for a nano second or two disrupting the sky signal

will ring sky again...just wondering if others had similar issues?

this is the first time i've heard of something like this,

your assumption of a pulse when the motor starts could be on the right track, if this is the case there ain't a lot we at sky will be able to do about it, my recommendation would be to move the equipment further away from each other (is the fridge close by)

hi, yes new be to me..previous decoder (which was standard) had no issues..so can really move the fridge or the tv ..i have done reset (via reset button on Mysky) and semi-cues the problem ..however depending on time of day etc.seems when fridge starts the tv will either completlyblank..or a 1-2 second freeze

so willwaitfor another replacment decoder and see what happens

I find your explanation highly unlikely.

I'm pretty sure there is no way a fridge can give off an electormagnetic pulse.

The nature of an EMP is that it frys powered up electrical equipment. that being the case how is your sky box (and fridge for that matter!) still working.

More likley it is a pwer surge through your house wiring caused by the fridge starting up. Might be a good idea to get an eectrician to chekc out your fuse box etc.

UPS your mysky box if that is the case

.. a decent surge protector would probably do the job too (and no not those $5 warehouse specials...)
