Hi all.

Didn't get to see this live  yesterday but caught the replay on SS2 last nite and was some what  appalled to see it in 4x3 , mono sound.  Was the  real thing  in  16:9 HD with 5.1 sound as was advertized in Skywatch ??

I don't think they ended up having this on SS1, it was only on ESPN.  I didn't watch any, so can't tell you if it was widescreen/stereo (is ESPN even in widescreen yet?).  I suspect that since it wasn't on the replay maybe it wasn't on the original broadcast either.  A bit rubbish really!

Oh, they did have some PGA replay on SS1 in HD at the time however!

If I remeber correctly I was watching The Crowd Goes Wild last week and Andrew said that SS1 wouldn't be showing the Superbowl becuase of A mix up with Sky And The American Broadcaster (Fox I supose isnt it?).

The Superboel wasn't on Sky Sport 1, 2 or 3. It was on ESPN, not HD though but it was widescreen. Unfourtunately I didn't get to see the ads, because ESPN desided to show there own. :\

As stated they moved it to ESPN as it looked like they couldn't get an HD feed. I find it more distasteful that since then they've showed replays on Sky Sport 1 and 2 and have flagged it as being in HD but are using the same SD source material at 4:3 but upscaled. Load of rubbish.

And to think I'd just recently said nice things about the Sky HD signal.

Were the GoDaddy advertisements SuperBowl ads or ESPN ads?  Seemed a little too US to be a stock ESPN ad.

Disappointing on the non HD tho......  and the game outcome.  Worthy finish but heart-breaking.

the Super Bowl host broadcaster this year was NBC.  Sky got all its HD games off Fox, with the odd game from CBS.  Really disappointed it wasn't shown in HD.

As was watching on the internet, got to see the ads.  Loved this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQvqkadg9JI

Thanx for the replies.  The other disappointment last nite was no halftime show.  Found it on the net today..

that's odd, I was watching the replay on ESPN (NZ) last night, and they showed the full set of "The Boss", good show it was too.

I agree, ESPN HD is much needed for Sky.
