Does anyone know of you can get surround sound with skypod? Can you connect it to an amplifier?

It's just connected via HDMI so you'll either use HDMI-ARC or Optical (from your TV).

Not sure sky provide 5.1 audio on their sky go platform, so no don't think you will.

Just plugged in mine.
Only transmitting in Stereo from what i can see.
This is a major disappointment given the Home Theatre system i have.

Why would they not transmit 5.1ch given its over IP and Voda TV was?

I’m not surprised. Sky just doesn’t seem to be into streaming Dolby sound or any NZ broadcaster (exception Voda TV)

I’m glad I left Sky, the Sky Pod is going backwards compared to Voda TV, and from comments I’m not even sure if the Sky satellite box is as smooth as the old MySky either. The applics I can run on Apple TV so no advantage there. And doesn’t cost a monthly sub to work/keep.

Yeah its just sport that i want it for but i also dont have a dish or aerial so im a bit limited in options.

Voda TV had 4k and 5.1ch Audio
SkyPod is 1080p for all sky content and 2ch...

And they put their prices up.....
Its a dismal situation

If surround and 4k is important for you then cancel it and return the hardware. Only way they will learn.
