I just got mysky put in a couple of weeks ago, it seemed to work fine till last week now it seems from between 12am-7am  the screen seems to freeze and all the shows I was wanting to record don’t record, it’s becoming extremely annoying and it only seems to do it between those two times, I was wondering if it was the weather or is it my machine,

the box we have hasn't failed since last year (touch wood).

I'd be in contact with Sky about it, something seems not right in your setup.

I have had this problem since we got myskyhd last November.

We are on our second box now.

I find the problem happens if I am recording 2 channels and watching a 3rd using live pause.  And if I have a show due to record after those two channels.  The mysky unit just cannot handle it and spazzes then freezes.

For example.

Recording 8:30 show on TV2 and another on TV3 at 8:30 while watching the 8:30 show on TV1 using live pause (had toilet breaks)

That uses 3 tuners.

Then at 9:30 I recored the show directly after the previous on TV2 and do the same again for tv3

They start recording even before the 8:30 shows have finished.  So it has a little spazz because it needs to use 2 more tuners a total of five.

When it has it's spazz it freezes.

I have followed advice in this forum to set recording to automatic ie don't use 5mins before and 5 mins after (that caused more screenfreezes)

Technically and logically the box should do the following.

Record tv 2 programme at 8:30, record the tv 3 programme at 8:30

Both should stop recording at 9:30

Then it should record the tv 9:30 programme and record the tv 9:30 programme...instead of trying to record while the 8:30 shows are recording.

But instead the box tries to use more tuneers than what it has installed.

Really gets on my nerves and tonight, I am only recording tv3 as I don't want to have any failed recordings seeing Lost is back on and Heroes is on TV3 at the same time.

I really don't know what else we can do except complain, complain and complain, again and again to sky.

I get the same thing... recording two channels, pause a third and the box crashes... often happens about 7pm, though that could be cos I'm dual recording and watching a third...

Yes, but the mysky box is meant to be able to do that.

It is advertised - record two channels and watch a third - or a recorded show.

And the box says we can pause live tv, no where have I seen it say you can't use live pause while recording 2 other channels.

The other thing I find that causes random freezes is the parental control.  Because we have children, who have access to our upstairs tv with myskyhd - we have to make sure they don't watch something not intended for them.

I find that when I watch a program that requires the parental code, it does not appear the moment you start you FF to the start of the show, and while you a FF'ing the parental block appears, you stop FF"ing - the parental pin block as gone, you wait for it appear, lose patience, start FF'ing to the start of your recroded show and then it appears again, spazzes and hey presto Screen Freeze.

And if you are recording anything, they are lost, as you have to reset the whole box.
