Yeah, it is a great feature. It was one of my reasons for getting mysky....

Trust me it is useful.

While I don't have mysky, I have a pvr hooked up to telstraclear stb.  And i have a web admin client for it.  If we're out and we forget something is on, or round at someones house and an ad comes on tv.  I can either jump on the web site with my cellphone, or with a computer and schedule the recording.

davidcole,
Do you have the MCE PVR-150? I have the PVR-250 but not MCE version. How do you control the STB? Completely off the subject of course. I heard a rumour that remote record would coming at some stage but have heard nothing in ages.
Cheers,
Matt

maybe should be new topic - but yes pvr150 (not mce version). and a usb-uirt for controlling TCL stb box. This was done because there was not native support for the TCL STB from the hauppauge  IR software, and no user way to update their software.  I don't think it is the same case with the pace boxes.  I think they are supported.

I have heard issues of using a blaster to control MySky though..... if thats what you were thinking.

Thrown it out now, but a sky watch magazine around December had news flash coming soon, then it had where you could set up recordings from internet.

I was expecting it within the month after reading that, but sky nz have gone all quiet on it.

I assume the mysky box just gets signaled over the satellite to have this setup? or this part of where the box gets connected to the internet via ethernet?

Signaled over satellite. Just a web page log in, put in what want and then it's sent to mysky via satellite. Don't have to be home to set up recording.

Yeah, the Sky box gets a 'hit' over the air.   Didn't know it could be done till I asked somewhere.

This has been mooted for ages, but nothing still seems to have come of it.  Foxtel even had this in their IQ (the equivalent of the original MySky)
