I have a new Sky Box at home with full internet access.  I have recorded many programs I want to watch while "on the road" in my caravan.   Can I run the new Box, without internet access and just view my recordings.    It doesn't appear so, as at boot up, if it detects no internet access it won't proceed...

Thanks

I’d be very surprised if those new boxes are “recording” at all. They’re more than likely just allowing. You access to the show over the internet.

@stevemat Why don't you just disconnect the Sky Box from the internet and try watch the recordings?

When my internet crashed on Sunday night, my new Sky Box wouldn't fully boot up, as it hangs at the "connecting to internet page."

This prompted my concern about how it will function in my caravan when I'm off the grid....

Previous Sky boxes required that they are connected to dish and receiving Sky signal before allowing playback.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

A "crashed" connection may still be shown as connected at the hardware level, and therefore it might keep trying to connect over and over. What happens if you physically disconnect the cable?

NB: No experience with Sky hardware apart from the old Pace 620 or whatever it was :)

Yes my old box would connect to the 12v dish on my caravan roof and then allow me to watch all my recordings while off the grid!
