Hi just wondering if anyone can help, or experienced similar problems.  I have a DS230NNZ with A360 software.  It works 99% of the time, no problem, always get a good picture.  When the STB is powered off at the wall, or power cut etc, the box will start up with the rain fade splash screen. 0% signal strength, 0% quality.  I have checked all satellite connections, everything seems in order.  The unit will come right after 2 or 3 hours, and start decoding, 80 - 85% signal strength.

I have learned basically not to panic and don't touch anything and it comes right every time after a while.  The first couple occurances I was on the phone to sky tech support.  They stepped me through all the usual configuration changes, of which did nothing.  Their only other solution was a visit by a tech with an 8 day lead time.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks

Hi, sounds to me like one of two things, either a duff box with a faulty tuner that is off frequency or deaf when first turned on, or an LNB thats DRO (LO) starts way off frequency and time/heat bring it on tune, have seen this in quite a few LNBs but normally not the good quality Sharps that Sky use. I dont think there is anything you can do but have it checked out, my guess is on the STB needing replacing.

ok thanks for the feedback, will have to get sky involved.  Was planning to go HDi anyways, so might be a good time to upgrade.
