Any one know if it is possible to buy a sky decoder so that we only need take our card to our holiday place rather than the whole box?

Sky don't sell decoders.

Your most realistic option is a Dreambox but you'll have to go down a steep learning curve configuring it if you've never used one before.

if you're prepared to pay $25 a month for multi room and put it at the other place...

but it would technically be a breach of their T&C's

Yeah that might be an option.

Have you spoken to Sky about this?
They must have some sort of deal for a second or third decoder without cards.
I was at a holiday house yesterday installing a new TV and they had two Sky decoders there but no cards as they bring the cards from home when staying there.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I rang them but the woman said they dont sell them but that I could use multi room. I might try again and be a bit more specific.
