I have just noticed that for Samsung TVs (Tizen), they used to list '2017+', but now they list '2017+ supported, 2019+ preferred'.  Mine is a 2018 model and today I get an error trying to access the UHD channel, ESPN and ESPN+.  SS 1, 5, 7, 9 and Select are OK - I could not be bothered testing the rest.  SSN are aware of the issue and it only affects some Tizen TVs.

Anyone else using SSN on a 2017 or 2018 Samsung TV and experiencing any problems?

"Sorry something went wrong" followed by a 'unique error code'.

The main reason I replaced my Samsung TV was that they changed the OS and I could no longer get TVNZ+, Sky or several other streaming services. I will never buy another Samsung TV, though their other household items are ok.

My 15 year old Samsung "smart" TV was smart for a year or two at most. When it stopped working / being updated I got an Android TV box to do the smarts for me. The first, Mi Box, lasted 6 years, recently replaced by a Google TV. It's much more economical to replace a TV box for $100 - $200 every 5 years than try to use Smart TV features. The TV manufacturers want you to buy new TVs, not keep using the old one.

TVNZ say that TVNZ+ will run on any 2015+ Samsung TV:

Since Samsung have used Tizen for years, this is what I would expect.

According to SSN support, the problem only affects 2017 and 2018 TVs.  Presumably there is a specific problem with the SSN app running on Tizen releases of that era.  They are still 'working' on a resolution, and I cannot watch ESPN or ESPN2 only - no big deal for me but they better fix it before the next Eagles NFL game 😒

We have a 2024 model Samsung and are having exactly the same issue with Sky Sport Now. The UHD, ESPN and ESPN2 channels have the error messages reported above.

Hard restart and logging out and in again make no difference.

Have fixed the issue by deleting the SSN app from the TV an reinstalling!

I reinstalled the app on my 2018 Samsung TV and it did not fix the issue.
