Bit of an odd one -

A friend has Sky broadband here in Wellington and in Hanmer (SI).

Her laptop can connect via wifi to a number of sources, but NOT their Sky networks.

I've tested the laptop myself and could wifi connect using 2 or 3 different wifi networks, but the owner insists that it won't on their 2 Sky networks.

In fact she says that the Sky wifi SSID doesn't even show in the available wifi sources lists.  Note that another of their PC and tablet both connect to their Sky wifi network no problem at all.

I've run through all the usual network and wifi adapter resets, and waiting to hear if it works.

Any Sky subscribers experienced this?  Any suggestions welcome.

Tks.

Is this via The Sky supplied router/modem...

Does it happen on both 2.4 and 5ghz bands....

What channels is the router set to use??

This can happen if the WiFi is using a channel that is not legal in NZ, if the router is set to the wrong country code.  Some devices when set to NZ will not see the bad channel when connecting, and others will still see it and illegally use it.
