Strangely the reception on 3 of my sky channels is a bit screwy. The majority are fine, but Prime, Comedy Central, and MTV all experience pixelation, and cut-outs.

I live in central Auckland and have a dedicated sky satellite dish. There is a PS3 that sits close to it - could this be causing interference? There is also wireless broadband in the house.

I've tried unplugging, reseting, removing the card to no avail.

I don't want to call at Sky tech incase they'll charge for it - I thought I would exhaust my options first. Any ideas what could be the problem? And if it could be easily resolved.

Hi, I would suspect you have cross polarity issues, occasionally on TP7 (12679V) there are feeds that if your LNB is not correctly aligned for Skew will give issues for TP16 that carries the channels you are having issues with.

Get a sky installer out, there is no reason that you should put up with drop outs with a clear sky, (heavy rain is another issue).

Other channels that would show this are Animal Planet, CNN, Disney and if you should subscribe Playboy Channel :)

Cheers
Cyril

May be DECT phone interference, if you have a portable phone try holding it near your decoder while the dial tone is on and see if it has an effect on the channels you are having a problem with. Just a thought ?

My cordless phone also interferes with some Sky channels (kids ones mainly). but only the Pace DSR600 STB and not the MySkyHDi (both fed by the same dish).
