Hi - first post.......I have 'acquired' a Pace STB from my brother as he has no use for it (was used as second STB in his house). I have installed a dish on roof, believe I have set up correct as I now get '89' signal strength per sky menu...my setup is
-have cable into stb, and scart connector into ryb cables into TV
-advanced settings are;

stb channel set to 38

satellite selected as Optus 5LNZ (?)

lnbf set to on at 11300hz (single type)

Not sure what else I need but, I get basic sky template as background but no pictures/sound etc. Is this a setup issue or can I not do what I'm attempting?
Any assistance would be appreciated, but in 'plain' english as this is all new to me.
Many thanks

Just phone SKY - as part of your subscription, they will actually come and set all this up for you.

Even though I'm not a Sky member and the brothers STB is at my place?

So you don't have a valid subscription, you have uplifted their decoder, and can't figure out how to get free service?

Ring SKY on 0800 759 759 and tell them you are having trouble stealing from them.

They should help you get it up and running for free in no time at all - and to be honest, why *should* you pay for it eh?

One wonders why you are soo helpful. Obviously it is paid for as a 2nd STB (of which I pay my brother) so it is not 'free' but just used in an alternate location - in fact much like many batch/mobile home owners.
I suggest you pull you head in, and offer contructive advice rather than smart remarks!

People using their second decoder at the bach/mobile home are generally not using both at once.

It appears that your brother pays for SKY, and you are trying to freeload and get SKY at the same time, without paying SKY for it, whilst using it as a completely separate installation.

You are breaking the terms and conditions, unless of course you HAVE written permission from SKY.

So perhaps you might want to consider pulling your own head in?

So to set the box up you must have connected OK to your TV. After changing the lnb settings you need to reboot the box. If you have done that well.....????

Even if I know what settings would get it working I wouldn't divulge them, then all I'm doing is helping you beat the system and subsidising you. Doesn't matter that you pay your brother or not, hope it doesn't work for you.

Your settings maybe wrong. Try a different transponder.

Everyone is right, what you are trying to do is wrong....Although i do belive in try before you buy.
If you use the service mate, pay for it. plans start from $50 p/mth and if you get MySkiHDi, you will think you are in heaven.
