Hey,

When i'm watching something I have recording on my myskyhdi, sometimes (but more recently) the playback would stutter, EG I would record "Blade" When I start watching it works fine then about every 10 seconds the video freezes/skips about 3 seconds forward and this makes it impossible to watch.

Has anyone had problems like this or similar??  Or anyone got a clue on what I can do??

Thanks heaps!

I have experienced this, like when I recorded the All Blacks Match last night and played it back from the start through my Planner, but mine doesn't sound as bad as yours, as I think it happened only twice. The recording would freeze and then jump a couple of seconds, and the audio would do the same. Dont have any ideas why it is happening, but could be from the Update a couple of months back?

Have you contacted Sky to see whether or not they have any suggestions?

I have noticed this more recently now that they also have 1/2/3 on HD. Probably not enough processing power.

When it tries to access three HD channels it locks up and then gives a message about HDMI Content Protection...(unrelated error as the LCD is compliant) and then forced to reset the HDi.

Also many items in the failed status from the planner. All HD channels.

Seems to occur if my wife records a 7:30 show and two 8:30 shows, and in the overlap stage it dies. I am guessing about 8:25

If you have your pre/post recording times set at 5 minutes, then at 8:25 the HDi is trying to record three programs at once, which it can't do.

Dingbatt is spot on.

I had the same problem once and learned from it. Because of the overlap the HDi is trying to record 3 programs at once, which it can't do. You just have to watch one of the 3 programs live and record the other 2. Live pause will still work on the program that you are watching live.

That was what I thought was the issue with the overlap. Shame that the system is not smartenough to realise that two programme events run into each other and do not overlap. Worked out it is 2mins prior not 5.. so with inaccuracy of programmes running to schedule we use the Auto option.
Thanks again for confirming my suspicion.

However the livepause while recording two results in jittery playback.
