Can anyone tell me why sky sport has the olympic rings under their imprint in the right hand corner, it has been there for a while.

Because they are going to broadcast the 2010 winter games and 2012 olympics.

As part of the contract with the IOC, I think they are required to show the rings for a certain period of time leading up to the games.
