Whever I go into the on-demand menu in My sky HDi there is no movies and it says 'no content is available at this time' or something around those lines. Why is this?

How long have you had your MySkyHDi installed? It takes it a day or two to fill up from memory.

I think it's Thursday nights they load new movies, see how it is on Friday, thats when I noticed new movies appear and old ones get deleted around midday.

Same thing happened gere and took bloody ages to fix. No one really knew what to do. Only fix was to have the decoder formatted by factory restore code which i have since forgot. :( but you do lose saved recordings

So nothing else we can do except ring up and reformat our drive?

Yep, you'll have to ring them up, as there's a fault some where. You won't know if drive has to be formatted until they've looked at it, but it's possible that's the only solution.

Someone rang me and they said that to get the listings for On Demand the decoder has to be
1)Turned on
2)On for at least 10 hours
3)On a Sky channel

if that still doesn't work then she said it has to be reformatted.

Strange, I thought the fourth turner was for on demand content, you wouldn't think it would matter what the other three are on.

Surely standby would count as being on, I don't think I've ever had it going consistantly for 10 hours out of standby and all works fine here, but it would need to be powered the whole time, i.e with the light red for standby and green when on.

Hopefully advice they gave works to avoid format, just doesn't seem logical.

Edit: I should've said blue for on, not green - realised after reading your post below.

She said to keep it on the blue light i.e NOT on Standby. Doesn't make much sense to me. I think I'll have to reformat. Oh no!!! not my All Whites recording!!

ok.. follow these steps to reformat mysky HDi

SELECT ACTIVE
SELECT SYSTEM SETUP
SELECT SYSTEM SETTINGS
ignore choices and type in 0759 then press SELECT
SELECT FULL SYSTEM RESET

Wait for it to do its thing, a good 3 mins.. On demand content should then come through on next download (fridays i beleive ?)

If not then decoder is at fault and needs to be changed.

NOTE: this will erase you drive and lose any stored content in planner.
