I think it's only Discovery Channel time delayed 2 hours.. hardly worth the space on a transponder really.

Sky UK is littered with +1 type 'channels'. They strike me as a complete waste of bandwidth now that most people are using Sky+ / MySky type devices and I would have thought that they'd be just legacy channels -- can't believe Foxtel are introducing new ones.

+ channels are a waste of time most stuff on discovery etc is repeated like 1000 times a month anyway.

I used to think they were a waste of time and since I had MySky I really didn?t see the point... but consider the number of channels that put prime content on at 8:30PM and you can only record 2 channels I think this is a good idea. I can now record 8:30 content at 10:30PM and series link should work properly as the later rerun?s generally don?t series link properly.

You realise this isn't coming to Sky right? This is for Foxtel. So no you can't do that. And while I get what you mean for channels like Prime where their content is (generally) unrepeated, all those doco channels endlessly repeat their programmes time after time, so if it clashes once you can generally find it in the EPG a day or so later anyway. Sky's bandwidth is so scant that if they started filling up the remainder of it with this crap I'd be pretty annoyed.

Last I check (tweeted) about it with @TelstraClearNZ and/or @SkyNZ got the words that, SkyNZ has to negotiate their content rights from the content vendor directly, and what Foxtel has done is they got the rights to broadcast it.

As for us in NZ, SkyNZ shares its content broadcast with Foxtel and most contents are advertised to Foxtel flavour despite we're viewing it in NZ/SkyNZ.

ohh that means if we are sharing with Foxtel.. theres a chance.. (although maybe very small if none at all) of getting Sci-Fi channel.. they already have it in their offerings..

It be Better to just get foxtel. Get a 3m+ dish and then have a m8 in oz for the addreess and tell ur m8 to send all the stuff over and your in. Got told by the end of this year foxtel plan is to have 900+ channels.

I doubt so. SkyNZ isn't (or unlikely) to negotiate content rights to source "niche" content...
