I have just purchased a new LCD TV with built in Freeview for my bedroom to replace an old crt TV I had. I have Sky for the living room TV and had run a split cable to the bedroom crt tv to watch sky there. This connected via the RF arial and I used to get sky on the video channel. It all worked fine with the obvious limitation of having to have the same channel on in both rooms.
I have setup my new LCD TV, attached the sky cable to the arial socket and am trying without success to find the sky channels. I have however picked up freeview channels.
How can I get the sky channels?

Its on analogue, probably channel 38 or 36

Whats the tv i just bought a panasonic lcd and if you push the tv button it switches between Analogue and Digital channels

I put it on analogue and manually scanned all channels including 36 and 38 right through to 120 but no luck. any other ideas?

yes I have a panasonic also. I push the TV button to get analog and then manually scan through channels but just get regular tv stations not sky. i push tv button again and get digital and that has picked up 19 freeview channels but again no sky.

Try changing the UHF output channel on the Sky decoder under Advanced setup.

uhf output channel was set to 38. I changed to 40 - still nothing coming through.

So just to confirm, when you installed the lcd all the connections were the same as you previously had to the crt tv? Your crt channel marked vcr is just another analogue channel.
I got confused when you initially talked about connecting rf and then later referred to the sky cable but I assume you mean the same thing.
You should be able to edit the analogue channels and manually select which channel you want to use (same as you set on the sky decoder uhf output).
Depending on how big the lcd is you may be disappointed in the resultant picture quality compared to the freeview broadcast one. Better quality can be gained by running av cables to the second tv. The topic is discussed in numerous threads in GZ but is obviously dependant on your house etc.

a wee bit confused - could you schematically indicate what is connected to where? and via which 'outlet's and 'inlet's?

I ended up calling sky in and is fixed now - though took him awhile to work out. Solution was to take the UHF cable and the Sky RF cable and put them both into a switch with one cable coming out into the TV arial. Now have sky working on analog 38 and freeview when I go to digital.
