Because they do not hold a open majority, just 43.65%, but they have support from a number of the other large shareholders, so essentially SKy NZ gets run a sub set of its other global ops.

Ever wondered why lots of shows are advertised as being AEST 8pm NZ 10pm, when Sky's beams dont go to Oz.....?

Actually Sky and Foxtel "jointly developed" the box - although I'd say more like bulk-bought the box from Pace.
You're implying because Telstra and Telecom are both buying identical phones from Brightstar or kit for the core from Alcatel-Lucent then they must be a transnational corp.

Foxtel is 50% owned by Telstra, 25% by Newscorp and 25% by Consolidated Media Holdings (formerly PBL).  Sky is 43% owned by Newscorp.  Do you really think that a shareholder has that much influence in procurement?  If thats the case why do we have many more Newscorp owned channels carried by Sky?  It took forever to get Fox News down here.

as for broadcasts of timing - for those programs that are fed out of Singapore to both NZ and Aust they broadcast both times (eg NatGeo, History) not because of ownership but because of production.  Similarly for feeds out of the US (eg ESPN).

you'll find Sky represented on News website : http://www.newscorp.com/investor/investments.html
Its there but just such a small pimple in the News portfolio.
