Apparently the SD feed of ESPN is now broadcasting in WS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESPN_Australia), is there any word of it coming to sky? Would be a nice stopgap until sky gets ESPN HD in 2020.

Had mysky and HD installed a couple of days ago.
Am stunned that ESPN is still in stretched SD.

It's only stretch on your TV then not on the rest of us.. My TV auto switches the Sky aspect ratios..

So you mean it just letterboxes the picture for you?
I think I actually did set that in the system settings.
Will have to take another look. Am just learning my way around the system. Smile

Even so, that doesn't change the fact that it's 4:3 SD. Cry

It is almost criminal to show the champions league football on ESPN - The quality on a 40" LCD is terrible.

I would quite happily pay a premium for ESPN HD just for the champions league... I really hope they are looking at providing the HD channel soon!

too right, that's why i'm so in love with SBS right now, a better mix of games, and in upscaled HD.  Yum.

I'm stunned you didn't check out what you were paying for before you got it.

No.  My STB is set to 16x9.  When I select a channel that is 16x9 it goes that way.  If the channel  is 4x3 it sets it to 4x3.  There is no letterbox or "fatovision"  If you are getting this then check your STB or your TV settings. The TV should be set to something like "Normal"   not "Full Screen"  which is what allot of people set their sets to just to fill up the screen.

Thanks, I checked it out last night.
My tv is not set to stretch anything.

There is a seperate setting in the mysky box for HD and SD with regards to stretching the picture or leaving it letterboxed.

So I'm all sorted now.
