I set MySkyHdi to record the Academy Awards showing I specifically chose both the 2pm recording ending at 2.00pm and 2.30pm?recording ending at 5.30pm

Well it just cut short at the 217th?minute in the middle of the best actor speech?!
So in the guide it showed it was ending at 5.30.. My recoding shows its 217minutes?long. ?This p*$$ed me off! It is also showing as a single recording starting at 2pm. ?
Anyone know how long it overran? did it overrun? ?wtf is my skyhdi doing?

Unfortunately?i was watching the recording while the re-run was on Movies2..
I have plenty of space, 41% free, there were no other shows?scheduled?before and after till 8.30pm.

The actual show didn't finish until around 6pm, as per usual it overran

I recorded the CH7 AU Feed which was also scheduled to finish at 5:30, but luckily I'd added a serious overrun window.

That's one of the things that I thought Sky would have sorted out with their MySky units.
Programs running late and also, because of something running late, the next program starting late.
Can't they send a signal that tells the MySky units that the next program is starting now so if you are set to record start recording now.
Then also send another signal when the program is finished so that if the program runs late the unit won't stop recording until it receives that signal from Sky.

That's how I would like to see it work anyway, not sure if it is possible or not.

You would think they'd know there is an overrun and adjust accordingly. My recording settings are set to Automatic for both adding to start and end of recordings.

It's insane, if you havent set to Automatic you can only explicitly set it to record a further 10mins at the end.. so it seems there isn't a way to ensure this doesn't happen in the future.

Yep had the exact same problem.....Have also had numerous problems.....Have even set the 20 minute over run feature aswell, which seems to only implement itself part of the time..
I think were due a box upgrade.... U.k sky+HD boxes are so much sleeker...

manaia: What channel was it on?

Was on Sky Movies, and re-run on Movies 2, I sure hope they adjusted the guide for those recording the re-run they should've known about it at least by then.

I submitted this online via the online help system, as I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten far by calling them.
I received a call from them, they said this is an unfortunate side effect during live broadcasts, and say they only 100% way to mitigate it is to instead setup a manual recording of live events with an appropriate overrun ending time.  And then mentioned it was being re-run this Sun, too late I already know the results!..
