The other day I was sitting at home, minding my business and watching some of my prerecorded tv shows. After one particularly long show I went back to my planner to find two shows on national geographic had been recorded and series linked, with another 3 (all 5 were consecutive shows) scheduled and series linked. Only me in the house, they weren't preprogrammed to record and I didn't do it, and no one could have remote recorded as you can't series link... Sky said they had no idea, and standard response turn it off and turn it on again. Apparently no one elses remote could have interfered with our box either... I deleted the recordings and it hasn't happened since, but i'd like to know how this could have happened. Any ideas?

It sounds to me like someone else has your smartcard registered for remote record. Did they have RB in red beside the recordings or just an R? Mysky can remote record via the internet (the messages for recording come via the satellite).

Cheers, Matt.

TiVo does this! Auto recording programs similar to other programs you manually add...maybe your a lucky pilot customer and Sky hasn’t told you about it yet!? :)

Seriously though, are they programs of a series you watched many months ago? I know when a series ends it disappears from the planner and then randomly appears when they rerun the series or some time the new series starts.

They weren't remote recorded, had red R not blue RB, also they were series linked which cannot be done remotely. Definitely not shows we have previously watched either, pretty sure we've never watched National Geographic, let alone series linked it!

I've had it happen, a rugby game on Prime. Have mysky1 the silver one as multiroom and it also recorded on that one as well.

There was no series link next to it or remote record symbol, and no one had set it up manually.

Just deleted it, and nothing strange since so I didn't post at time.

If your program was series linked, I've always wondered what happens to series link when series ends, maybe some other program got assigned series link of one that had finished?

Manaia who hangs out here may be able to shed some light. They do reuse programme id's which is why if you have a really old programme saved the description of the programme can be quite random/different. did you have any really old stuff saved on the mysky?

Yep there are a couple of things on there which are about 6months old, so that might explain it, thanks!
