Hi, just wondering. Why doesn't Sky allow us to enter other FTA on the Optus D1 into the Satellite Decoder?
Other countries allow that on their network. For example DStv, BskyB. So What can't we in New Zealand? We just got Mysky Installed. Because it has a DVB logo on the front, I thought I might give it a go at putting the frequncies for other programs on the D1, example SBS, which is currently free on the D1, and on the NZ Beam, and 12483, for Freeview. No it didn't work.

Any reason to why Sky doesn't allow this?

because nobody has made them is the answer I suspect.

I think the only reason why BSkyB did it was because they were told they had to by Ofcom or whoever it is.

I guess at the end of the day, it's their gear, they choose what's available and you either like it or lump it.

That's just the way they have always worked.
