Seem to have come across a problem/change in sky satellite channels:
(prime, comedy central, disney, animal planet, cnn, mtv). This is 'stream 11' apparently.

As of yesterday, my 11n/g router interferes with the sky box when the 11g chooses certain wireless channels. It causes *really* bad blocking/macroblocks on all the above sky channels, totally unwatchable with multi second freezes. All other channels ok.

If the router chooses channels 4,5,6,7 (2.427, 2.432, 2.437, 2.442ghz), then the problem occurs.
1,2,8,9,10 and 11 wireless channels are fine. Havent tried 3,12,13.
Note the 11n router is not new, about 1 year in use in this location.

Anyone else come across this problem, and or know if sky have made a change? (The sky service guy said that sometimes sky change frequencies).

My fix was to take the router off autoselect and hard code it to channel 11.

Additionally, both the sky tech on the phone and the installer/tech asked if I had a cordless phone (i.e, 2.4ghz). So they know something is going on with that spectrum. How long this has been going on, who knows.

Is your Sky Decoder a Pace DSR-600? (The large dark grey one)
I had exactly the same problem, firstly with a 2.4GHz phone (replaced) and then with my wireless router until I changed its channel. So you are not alone. Initially I was told (by Sky CSR) that it was my problem and nothing could be done about it from their end. I pointed out that other Sky decoders did not suffer from the same interference (referred to in a thread in this forum - can't find the link at the moment) and was told they could send a technician out but there may be a charge. The decoder I was after is the small silver one that does component via scart but I can't remember its model number. I'll have a hunt and see if I can find the GZ thread.

Thanks Dingbatt, you are 100% correct, it is a DSR-600.
lol, stupid sky, this 'should' be a known problem. They didnt even ask what type of box I had (I gave them a clue that it was 7+ years old).
I am keeping it for now, as I run it through a tivo series 1.

Would the small silver box be a PACE Model DS230NNZ?

Yes it is. Sky tech replaced our older box free of charge and signed off the work order as "2.4gHz problem". He gave us a free SCART-Component cable as well.
