Hi,

I have just connected my HD MySky box to my AV Receiver via the SPDIF using an optical audio cable but I get no sound. The Decoder audio settings are set to SPDIF Dolby.
My AV receiver (Denon AVC-3800) has inputs for AC-3RF, Coaxial, and Optical.
It might be that my receiver is limiting my ability to hear the sound but I would have assumed by connecting the optical cable that would be all I need to do.....maybe I have the receiver on the wrong mode, no optical mode I can see, only AC-3RF (laser disc).

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Steve.

you probably need to tell your AVR to use whatever SPDIF input you have connected for the particular input. ie you assign the spdif input to vcr1 or whatever.

Thank you, I have done just that but still no audio and the guy I bought the amp from said he has used the optical port before. I'm not sure what's going wrong.
