For billions of years since the outset of time, every single one of your ancestors survived, every single person on your Mum and Dads side, successfully looked after and passed onto you life.  What are the chances of that like?

perhaps because TVNZ (Tivo part owner) gave sky a freebie and because it is just petty to not allow your tv lisitngs to appear on other applications.

I pay for the privilege of watching Sky and all the other channels.

Users of TiVo do not.

What?!  You don't pay for Prime.  It's FTA anyway, we're just talking about the EPG.

So explain why are you paying for what you don't have to? ;-)

And how about TVNZ 6 & 7 in the online EPG. I suppose we have another arbitrary year to wait

You're sure that sky got a freebie from TVNZ?  Why not the possibility that Sky has agreed to pay TVNZ for the data - much like the newspapers have to pay TVNZ for the listings so they can publish them.  It was a bone of contention during the MCH media reviews that newspapers still had to pay TVNZ for listings data.

This is great news! So many times I have wanted to remote record something but it was on TV2

It's possible TVNZ included TV1/TV2 listings as part of the Heartland agreement - as Sky wouldn't have gone for a channel exclusively on Sky that subscribers can't remote record, and they would probably have justified with "well, you're giving us the data for one channel, what about the rest?"

If it helps any, Sky justifies the reason they won't give Hybrid the EPG for Prime as "they don't measure ratings data, so we don't know how well our ads are doing - we'll review this decision in 2012 when Tivo gets this feature".
