Can't agree there. Sky's functionality in this area has always been a bit weak and this stuff is good, especially the Record Me thing.

The 'ads' are generally always at the beginning and end of an ad break, (we generally use them as the moment to hit play). Doesn't make adding them that time consuming, def. easier than searching through the planner.

It's interesting to see they're slowly starting to get to where cable PVRs were when I was visiting the US in 2007. That said, I really like the MySkyHDi's usability - it even passes the 'my parents can use it' test.

The Sky Online Help say it will only work with Sky channels at the moment. Tiny Url

imo its lame...Sky should be looking to provide more HD content....they are heading for a regulatory move if they dont smarten their act up.

BTW, I don't find the new features 'lame'. It will be great to be able to see the current programme whilst looking at the guide.

You still don't explain the link between your opinion and the need for Sky to be regulated. Do you want it regulated to supply more HD content? If you don't care about these new features then what is the point of your original post?

Where's things like enabling the LAN & USB ports on the box, allowing playback of avi/mkv/etc files from USB, streaming of mysky content over the local network, etc etc.

That's the sort of features I want to see my mysky, turn it into a total networked media centre.

It "is my opinion" that Sky are beginning to behave in a monopolistic manner wherby they have a monopoly and their consumer offerings are beginning to show this. If in doubt try looking up other countries cable/sky type offerings and value for dollar. I am sure you will find worse....but I am only generalising. Also perhaps view todays article in NZ Herald.
