l43a2: pretty weak features.

Can't agree there. Sky's functionality in this area has always been a bit weak and this stuff is good, especially the Record Me thing.

ZollyMonsta:The 'ads' are generally always at the beginning and end of an ad break, (we generally use them as the moment to hit play). Doesn't make adding them that time consuming, def. easier than searching through the planner.eracode:l43a2: pretty weak features.

..if you enjoy watching ad breaks to be able to use the feature. :)

It's interesting to see they're slowly starting to get to where cable PVRs were when I was visiting the US in 2007. That said, I really like the MySkyHDi's usability - it even passes the 'my parents can use it' test.

common sense is not very common

It will be interesting to see what they mean by "ads". I wonder if Record Me will work on ads for upcoming programmes on TV1, TV2, TV3 etc coming over Sky? My guess is that they may not. I think they may be referring only to Sky's promos for its own channels like History, Nat Geo, etc
mattbush: imo its lame...Sky should be looking to provide more HD content....they are heading for a regulatory move if they dont smarten their act up.

I agree that Sky should provide more HD content but fail to see the connection between that opinion, and 'lame' features, and regulatory moves against Sky. What is the logical connection between those things?
BTW, I don't find the new features 'lame'. It will be great to be able to see the current programme whilst looking at the guide.

As I said its "in my opinion" that I dont give a toss about extra features when we are lacking HD content which is the main reason I subscribed to the MySky box.
I'm a geek, a gamer, a dad, a Quic user, and an IT Professional. I have a full rack home lab, size 15 feet, an epic beard and Asperger's. I'm a bit of a Cypherpunk, who believes information wants to be free and the Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it. If you use my Quic signup you can also use the code R570394EKGIZ8 for free setup.

You still don't explain the link between your opinion and the need for Sky to be regulated. Do you want it regulated to supply more HD content? If you don't care about these new features then what is the point of your original post?
