Hi was Just wondering what the picture quality was like with the Mysky hdi box was thinking of getting it coz my current Plasma is pixelated and hoping this makes it better??

A pixelated picture is normally due to a weak signal or interference. I assume your current signal is terrestrial and therefore switching to satellite (either Sky or Freeview) can be expected to be free of this problem. If you are currently using a Sky satellite decoder then changing to MySkyHDi is probably not going to make a lot of difference. Attention to the weak signal strength issue will deliver a more enduring solution.

Thanks for the reply, im a beginner lol i have sky digital at the moment maybe if you would break it down in lament terms for me would be much appericated

Is your sky box set to 16:9, seen lots for plasmas and lcds look awfull with the sky box set to centre cut 4:3

OK, just call in a Sky installer. It may be something as simple as realigning the satellite dish. After a few years they can slip out of alignment. Or is may be a corroded connection (due to winter weather). An installer with the correct equipment can diagnose the problem in a few minutes and have you up and running again without the annoying pixelation.

Err if its non HD thats the issue it sounds like the standard lack of bandwidth being used for each channel.

Basically the Plasma tv will be showing these flaws in the sky stream more.

What i might do is ring sky and ask for a scart - component reciever and see if that makes a difference the tv is HD ready, if not i will use login's advice

Also depends how you are connected. Non-HD will look better using HDMI then other connections.

Also TV's often have built in technology to de-pixelate. I have a Pioneer 50" plasma and at the time I got it it I tested it on History channel and found it was much better others at cleaning up the picture. Check yours is turned on. Or possibly turn it off it it making things worse.

I think more important than HDMI as a connecction etc is the fact that the HDi will take control of scaling (normally upscaling to 1080i as a default) therefore bypassing any upscaling and deinterlacing in your TV.

From my observation it does an excellent job of presenting/upscaling SD material which is important for those brands of TV with poor performance in this area.

Thanks thats what i wanted to know cause we got a sumsung an looks pixelated might definitely have to look into My skyhdi, was mainly hoping that it made SD alot easier to watch

Hey guys just wanna say thanks for all your help and advice, what i did was brought a scart to component YUV converter and worked a treat it didnt cost much at all either now my picture is going great :)
