Hi I Have just installed sky in my new house and I got a couple of sky channels and the next
day turned it on and have none, reset the decoder and "one moment please" comes up and stays up there
and wont bring up any picture or channels

I have tried another decoder, another LNB, wiring and still nothing

It has signal strength and quality and the signal is locked just no channels

any suggestions??

this might sound like a crazy idea, right out of left field, but have you tried calling sky?

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the card with a dry cloth?

I gather you used the same card in both decoders you have tried?

Ok.. So if it was the same card it sounds like either the card has been damaged or something has gone awry with your entitlements on it.

Try getting a Sky ID (Sky web site login) and link your card to it. Might tell you if the card is valid or not.

Do you have more than 1 decoder? If so have you turnwd off the one supplying power to the LNB?

Got it working, set the dish up in another spot and got all the channels which is weird because there was nothing blocking the line of sight of the dish where it was originally mounted, must of had some sort of electrical interference.

thanks for the help.

There is a very small chance you had inter metallic corrosion in a connector. If you have 2 different metals in contact you will have corrosion which might be as simple as a thin layer of oxidation. Pulling a connector out and mating it again will wipe the contact surface and restore a good connection. This is why it is a bad idea to have gold plated connectors mixed with tin plated connectors (for example). You often see this issue with PC headphone sockets.

Alternatively you have a poor connection inside the cable and moving it restored the connection.

Electrical interference is unlikely.
