So I am moving house at the weekend, and it looks like it will be a while before I can get Sky installed.

I know that MySky used to block you watching recordings if it couldn't contact the satellite.
Does anyone know if this is still the case? (I just remember this when the satellite went out of action a few years ago)

Cheers

Last time I checked, it was still the case.

Not sure, but you could take the cable out at your current home and test?

You can access recordings with no satellite as long as you don't power off the decoder. If that happens it'll give you a message similar to"updating listings" and you won't be able to access your recordings. Doesn't help in your situation moving house though sorry!

Unless you run it off a UPS.

Sounds like a real pain. I do have a UPS, and guess the mysky doesn't take too much juice, but seems like way too much hassle.
