I just received a flyer in the mail from SkyTv saying I can get Sky for:

Free Install
Half price for 6 months on sky basic + movies _ sports with a free magazine for 6 months..
which I work it out to be $45.77 a month for 6 months for basic + sports + movies..

Has anyone tried this out yet ?

my son delivers those flyers and they are sent out by sky and they have been doing it for a year or so, they seem to target certain areas and i think they are a good deal, and you should get a reminder just before the expiry date. so if you want sky go for it

From memory you can downgrade your sky after the 6 months to no movies and/or sport. What it doesnt let you do is get Mysky :/

Free install always goes with 12 months contract. If you do not want a contract then you need to get a standard non-promo install and pay ~$200 upfront.

Just go for the 12 months contract.

We got this deal and it was good. Unfortunately its only the very basic mysky, its not HD and doesnt come with the black myskyhdi but the simple grey mysky box which only allows you to record one channel.
You can upgrade and even get rid of it after 6 months as your not tied into a 12month contract on it.
We eventually upgraded to myskyhdi but only cos i advanced in my job, otherwise we would have ditched it.

just seen on TV that if you get sky digital now you get free sports and all movie channels free until end of February and free install, i presume its 12 months and you have to keep the sports and movies, again the loyal customer gets shafted and offered nothing. "sigh"

So do they give you one of the older grey decoders which were originally called mysky that we paid $599 for originally and that also recorded before mysky hdi came out ?
The controller used to look the same as the mysky hdi controller as well ?

They also had an RF out if I remember rightly ..

I just took them up on the deal, box goes in on the 1st december, $44.45 for the first 6 months and free installation on a 12 month contract.

Harvey Norman still have MySky HDi free install and 6 free PPV movies deal going until Christmas as well, you don't have to buy anything - they just hand your details to Sky.

You just need to negotiate with them a little. I got that deal a few month ago for free install half price everything but it didnt include mysky.

After a bit of negotiation with a great CSR he hooked me up with half price, including mysky + a free HD ticket, So I pay around $45 a month for everything at the moment
