Does anyone else have issues with this guide....mine at times is very very slow and sometimes does not show any info at all.

Seems very very poor to me.

I used to find on the standard digital decoders the guide was very very slow.

But on Mysky HDi its instant. Maybe its hardware related?

Don't think so - has normally worked very well for me with a Vu+Duo, but I went to use it last night and there was hardly anything listed beyond the next couple of hours. A bit better this morning but still not what it used to be - pretty reliably 7 days in advance.

It was an odd enough occurence to get me to come to GeekZone to see if anyone else had noticed a problem.

I've got the small silver SD box. Of all the SD boxes this one has the fastest menus and EPG. Works okay, not fast, but sufficient. Frequently the guide is empty as it refreshes. I'm told by a tech it is a common thing. But it is never a case of only a couple of hours that is filled, it is always completely empty and fills up 1 channel at a time (over a period of time). I notice it at least once per day. An of cause the Sky box will not get the guide when set to FTA channels.

You can never have enough Volvos!

On your Vu+Duo do you get more than current and next for HD channels? I get full 7 day for all but HD channels.

Just the SD channels, which is a bit of a pain, 'cos it means creating a recording for the SD channel and then manually editing it to be for the HD equivalent. Even more of a pain because I've sorted the channel list so that 1= TV1HD, 2 = TV2HD,..., 4 = PRIME etc., with the SD channels bunged into gaps in the numbering. This means a search to find the SD channel in the first place, and then to change it to the HD equivalent. (Did this to simplify channel selection on the remote, so the numbers line up with the TV guide)

One of these days I'm going to get around to figuring out where the EPG XML file sits and have a crack at coming up with a script to copy the SD EPG data into the HD equivalent slots - if (big IF) it's as easy as doing that.

Gareth41 was also working on an EPG for the HD channels for the Vu+Duo, but I never heard back from him about how he got on.

As an aside - if you want to know how to create your own channel list boquets let me know and I'll send instructions. I've set up a spreadsheet to convert a channel scan into a list that can be sorted and then exported out as a boquet text file.

Yes been waiting on Gareth41 for months. I am fine creating bouquets etc. I have created one with only HD channels in it so its quick and easy to edit the timers created from SD EPG. The lack of HD EPG renders autotimers useless for us which is a pain. All in all a good box though.

Your spreadsheet sounds interesting. I'll pm you my email address if you don't mind sending it to me.

Hi Guys.

Just following up to see if anyone did have a breakthrough with extracting 14days of Sky EPG Data via aftermarket EPG application.
I see methion that Gareth41 was working on something a while back.

I'm currently running Crossepg on my Dreambox and vu+duo and have 2 weeks of Data, but have problems with Fonts on the Graphical Epg Data display UI.
I ended up running Dreambox Edit, and identifying the EPG data streams and entering them into Crossepg which then does a download and compiles the data which is then imported into the EPG app on the Box.

The other problem i also have is, the HD channel EPG data does not populate . I think i have the wrong stream data for these channels.

Would be good to hear how others have got on.

Has anyone used CoolEPG ??
