I remember reading UFC PPV's will be available on Sky from 2011. Just wondering if this is true?

Normally i just buy the PPV from the UFC website and stream via the Net. But with network deaths at night the quality is horrible.

They have shown almost all the UFC xxx for a while now on PPV.

Plus showing the old heavyweight ultimate fighter (S10?), Best of pride, A couple of fight nights, CFC (Aussie), and one form NZ. All on the normal sky sports channels.

So it was just all installed. He left a massive pile of dust and wall bits from where he had drilled through from outside.

The cable running down the house is also loose and untidy.

Far............................ and i paid $99 for this >>

Welcome to the joy of having sky installed, where the "technician's" primary tools are a power drill with a foot long bit and a tube of silicon sealant. :(

I expected something a little more for the $99 i paid. I could have done a better job myself had he just dropped off the dish lol.....

So i turned off my TV and turned it back on. Now its showing "No Signal" on the TV itself. Which i've seen when i switched to HDMI3 and my computer is turned off. So no data is being recieved by the TV from the skybox. When i check the front of the MySky box the power symbol light is red but the 4 other ones (message, signal etc) are all blank (non lit).

fuuuuuuuuuuuuu moment lol........

A sub contractor earns about $140 per sky install, out of this he has to pay to run his own vehicle, tax, and all other costs. Plus cannot work when it rains.
Sky has nailed all these contractors down to get low installation pricing.

You get for you pay for. I used to work in the industry.

If it's red, it's not on - should be blue. Do a power off or a reset - I am sure it tells you how in the manual, or it's the go back button and select on the decoder at the same time.

We have always done the installation on cabling internally ourselves, then you know what your getting. All they have to do then is mount the dish and mounting bracket ( under the eave so no holes drilled in the roof either ) and plug in the box.

Had a tech come back. Apparently the HDD had **** itself. It had a silver sticker (not the original) so it had been returned, repaired then sent back out at least once before. He replaced the box, everything is sweet now.

I feel your pain mate they done the same to us left a big mess I could of done a better job my self as well they could of put one of them plastic switch things on the wall. Also the cable was very short so now we have to buy more cabling if we want to move the tv around the room.

I personally think improvements need to be made to sky installations.

The installer that did our home a number of years ago did a very tidy job and made a good effort to hide the dish even though we have a 45 year old home that is falling apart. Mounted it on the roof instead of hanging it off the side. Ran the cable out of sight and along a down pipe. The only mess was a small amount of dust from drilling through the timber floor. And this was a free install (I know he still gets paid, but zero charge to us). Some installers still take pride in their work.

The guy that installed ours was awesome.
I was worried about what it would look like but he ran the cable it all over the house in pipes and eves etc which hid it all.
He even put our dish in a spot where it's not visible even thou it was a pain for him to install.
I guess it's like everything, you get some good and then you get some bad.

I had Sky Digital connected when we moved into our current house about 5 years ago and the installer did a fantastic job. It was part of a "free installation" deal but I would have gladly paid an hourly market rate to have this guy work in my house. And he connected the box to an exterior phone point (for pay per view, etc) at no charge. Very tidy, professional job, and he even had a Black and Decker hand vacuum cleaner to pick up the dust and wood chips.

I upgraded to MySky about six months ago and the guy they sent out was terrible. A monkey could have done better. It started when he turned up but couldn't do the job because he had no "exterior grade" cable. Came back a few days later, and ripped bits of weatherboard away where he drilled out from the inside of the house. Then he ran new cables from the dish and put a plastic sleeve over them to cover the hole in the skirting, but the sleeve doesn't fit into the hole so just sits around the cable a few inches from the wall. Oh, and the cables are slightly too short to reach the box, which I have had to move closer to the wall (no big deal, but it's an aesthetics thing). I also had him run an RF connection to a second TV in the bedroom and the cable comes through the wall at an angle of about 60 degrees from the horizontal so it pokes up in the air before finally running along the floor to the back of the drawers the TV sits on. Dust and crap from his drilling, inside and out. He did give me a free second remote to control everything from the bedroom, but no consolation.
