Hi team,
No mater what file I select to watch I get the message: "The selected item is not currently available"

Thanks,

I doubt Sarah Richardson (Sarah 101) will make it... (Wife's reason for keeping sky)

Isky is still in BETA so it will have glitches here and there as I found out. They also dont have a very wide range of shows available to watch even when it does want to work.

I found the problem, my network could not resolve the 'cdn.isky.co.nz'. To fix this I manually set it to the correct ip which I will post later.

iSky is such unbelievable trash, I had no idea it was possible to for it to be less reliable than pirated streams that get shut down for copyright infringement, but it is. amazing.

My problem was that I used OpenDNS - which would not point cdn.isky.co.nz to the correct IP address. I setup my host file to go direct to the IP address (found by performing a ping on the url). So now when I access the site, the cdm.isky.co.nz address does not use the DNS server to find the IP address - but resolves directly to the IP address.

If it happens again, it may be because the IP address has changed. Another ping will locate it - and another edit to the host file should resolve the problem.

Thats so people outside of NZ cant access Isky (not worth trying to access it unlike HULU). Or can other people who use openDNS use Isky fine without editing the HOSTS file?

Appears to be a known issue with iSky and OpenDNS.

I can't tell you any more sorry.

Thanks Matt -- I'll give that a try later.

My problem is very similar to yours, but with an added twist:

-  Playback starts OK, and continues for a period of between 1 and 10 minutes;

-  Then, the message: "The selected item is not currently available" appears;

-  If I restart playback, and skip to the point where it stopped, I will get another few minutes of playback, before it stops again.

I managed to watch a one hour documentary, by restarting playback at least 10 times, but it does get rather annoying, so I haven't bothered watching anything else.

Despite numerous calls to Sky Tech. Support, I have been unable to get any answers on this one.  They keep blaming all sorts of other things like my connection, which I know is not to blame, because VoIP phone calls keep working without any interruption, and that means my connection has constant throughput with minimal jitter.  I am using Firefox 4, which is one of their supported browsers, and the same thing happens on two different PCs, one running Windows XP and the other running 7.  Connection speed is a rock-solid 1Mbps, which is supposed to be enough.  Yes, I know it's on the slow side, but it is extremely reliable, and has been for over 7 years now.

Any ideas would be welcome.

No because apple have not added support for flash to either the ipad or iphone.

The fact that it uses MP4 files on sky's end means it should be relatively easy to add, except, it's encrypted.
