Hi,

If I get a brand new subscription, just a basic package (not MySky HDI etc) what sort of SKY card will I be likely to get?

NZ45XX or NZ17XX?

What do you have?

Cheers,
mcraenz

ask for a small silver pace box, I think they put 45xx cards into these by default for new installs. Thats unless they are swapping out an old box and you already have with a 17xx card, correct me if im wrong. The small silver pace boxes can take both cards, and whats more 45xx cards when used in third party boxes for some reason seem to allow access to the HD channels regardless of having the HD ticket or not.

I have got it working but only have a SD subscription and DVB-S card.  I jumped to conclusions instead of thoroughly reading though the various threads on the subject.

Got 17xx with the older decoder :( installer is trying organise a replacement silver decoder with 45xx. I however did get a quad output LNB on the dish. As for the pic quality, I knew it would be bad but wow! This is like youtube -3 years ago! Anyway as long as I can incorparate this into my htpc it will be ok.

It should be well worth the $40 because now you can have mysky without actually having Mysky ie rewind live tv and record as much as you like without it expiring, only thing is its SD.

Yeah pretty sweet. Especially since I'm only paying $ 23.80/month (for 12 months). Now just have to wait for my card reader to come from Estonia!
