Watching True Blood that I recorded from the other night.

16 mins into it, it asks me for my parental pin(it should do this before it plays it).  Fast forwarded the first set of ads and all of a sudden it rewound back to the beginning.  Did this 3 times on me and I am now resetting it.

Does my box sound faulty?

I do not have MySky, but the past week I've had the issue with my small silver SD box 15 minutes into a show asking for my pin instead of when I switch to the channel (which it did not).  Very annoying, so sounds like there is a bug in the sky.

if you hold the FF or Rewind button for to long it will go to the end or start of the program, very annoying if you are half way through a program.

Nope was not doing that.  Had it on the slow FF.

Resetting the box fixed the problem, but is very annoying.

it seems to have problems when a power dip happens..

not had the pin issue but it messed up the recordings or got partial
recordings..

helpline didnt have a answer..

I decided to try powering it off at the wall for 1 minute and back on

it resets and downloads the tv guide again and fixes the issue
has some flash memory it stores stuff by looks that can corrupt

guess really it should be a PC UPS backup power to filter line and provide
som back up power.. espc if country power lines like we have

My friend's MySky locks up 15 minutes into a live program. Great cause we can watch it before we head off to school. Don't worry, it's only family guy.

Last night we were watching a programme on Comedy Channel (don't know what it was called but it had lots of girls in brief bikinis shaking their bits) and after about 15 mins a PIN request came up. Was watching live MySky, not a recording. I thought this was strange and a bit annoying.

Exactly what I was trying to describe which our non-MySky has been doing for the past week or so.  We were not watching the same progam last night, we were watching 007 on 1 (more bits shaking, not stirred), but the past week we've noticed the issue specifically on Comedy Central exactly 15 minutes into a programme.  Perhaps related to the channel move, but it started before the move.

I'm not sure if it happens on other channels, but definitely Comedy Central.  Our parental control is set to age 16 because we have a 9 and 11 year old.

It happened way before the channel move

I might send Sky an email.  Because I am also tired of recording Criminal Minds Suspect Behaviour on Monday nights and then having it record repeats of the Original Criminal Minds on (I think it's) Thursday night...

Grrr at them..

At least you got something. I had 2-3 months where at least half of the time when I booked a show (no matter what I booked), all I would get was a recording that was of the correct length and timing, but consisted entirely of the preview channel!

(And yes, I had set it correctly).

I'm having a slightly different issue. I record both ONE News and 3 News (and quickly flick through both in the evening to see what interests me - they can be quite different sometimes). Most nights straight after the intro the recording freezes and resets to black and 0 mins.

You can never play or ffwd through it, you have to open the recording from the planner and type one minute after where you were and play. It can happen several times over the next several minutes.

I have done this for years until the last few months without any issues. I thought it was a damaged part of the disk (I'm normally always recording them from the same spot as I only have 1 saved programme). So I saved a programme over the top and now it happens alot less frequent, but still happens.

Anyone else have this issue?

It all depend on the time of the day and if the program starts on time

If it is during the day you recorded it you will allways get asked for the PIN no matter what the settings

Sometimes you can watch the start of the program without being asked for a PIN because it started early when a PG program or the like was recorded. Youi only need to put a PIN in when it is scheduled to run

My children had the same problem in reverse. Sky started recording early when an M program was on before the PG program I allow them to watch. Sky would ask for a PIN and this confused them. I trained them when they get this to start it a few minutes later
