Are there really more people interested in hockey and/or golf than football:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/6065326/Sky-runs-out-of-channels-for-Phoenix-telecast

An even so, 'running out of channels'?? - couldn't they broadcast it on a non -sports channel for a one-off and maybe skip yet another repeat of Kardashians on E or some wrestling on the Box.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

They can create special channels for the Olympics etc, "The Phoenix Channel" sounds like a good idea, or they could've nicked one of the Sky Box Office channels and used that, opened up to Sky Sport subscribers (and maybe $1 for non subscribers) :P

Your most likely correct. I notice that the Rugby 7s outside NZ are now only on the Rugby channel.

"The Phoenix Channel" only $10 / month or PPV @ $10 / game..

Wonder if Sky can put the match on ISky ?. Feel its par for the course as far as Sky's support of soccer goes though. They dont show the A_league Pre-match show or post match Interviews either.

i wouldnt mind sky having a dedicated football channel so we get to see EPL, La Liga, Champions league, bundesliga and our own A league and also more international friendly and world cup qualifers.
there could be additional stuff about players and club history.

I didn't quite mean it like that, I just meant, fire up a spare channel and/or commandeer another one (such as SBO) to essentially create a temporary Sky Sport 4.  As in, a solution to make the game free-to-air to all.

That said, as others have said, a Football channel, run in a similar method to the Rugby Channel (as many games as possible live in Rugby Channel, and simulcast on one of Sky Sport 1-3 may be popular.  Especially since I'd imagine there is much more Football content world wide than any other sport.  (That said, I wouldn't subscribe)

Put the Dutch Eredivisie on it too and I might even be inclined to pay an extra $2 a week.
