Hey all,
We recently got 3 SKY Boxes installed,
1X MY SKI HDI
1X My SKI +
1X Sky Digital

I noticed that the HDI  and + boxes, have 4 satellite inputs, but only one cable going to them?
and also no Phone cables connected.
Back in Australia we had Foxtel IQ boxes, they had 2 satellite inputs, and both connected, as well as the phone cable connected.

any ideas to the reasons for this?

thanks,
Braydon.

The phone line connection is only needed if you want to book pay-per-view stuff / movies via the remote.
You can still book stuff online or via the 0800 number.

Sky NZ is currently only using one Satellite, Optus D1, hence the need to only use one cable feed from the satellite dish.
They were looking at moving some channels to another satellite, and this is when they were installing the quad output LNBs with two cables, but that is not going to happen now so they have gone back to single cables.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Ahh ok, so because they are only using one satellite, we only need the one connection?. Thanks for that :)
do you know if we connect it with a network cable if we could book through the remote?
or will we have to run a phone line to it?

Thanks again :)

The network connector does nothing at the moment. The only way to book with your remote is through the phone line
