Re the embedded devices, great in theory but like the PCMCIA cards at present the shrowding of the Laptop can effect the RF performance.
Obviously handy to have built in but i prefer being able to use data any where i have network coverage, not just where the embedded device or PCMCIA card has coverage.
The Minimax works really well and similar to my handset for coverage.
The Sierra wireless with the external antenna goes well also, with out is limited coverage. As long as you don;t move around it works sweet with the antenna!
USB is probably more suitable and enables use in other devices such as desktops, Mac's etc.
