You put egg on a phone, that's it, you screwed it. (it's actually a software bug for the TXT thing) but as you opened it as well as "soiling" it, you have killed the warranty. Good try though! at least you saved $80 the first time round.

My only advice, Skip the dealers and send it to Mobilefonerepair direct. The dealers charge a "handling fee" yes any form of sand, soil, moisture, soil can void a warranty I don't know how many sand filled phones I have fixed. (the sand gets in the speakers and vibromotors)

$40 is danned cheap if you ask me. I would have no trouble paying that!

How many of you guys have worked in dealerships or repair agents and heard these stories, oh and that is a new one...oh yes I dont know how it got water in it, what do you think I shower with it... etc etc. The poor old service agent and dealer have no idea where your phone has been and what you have been doing with it!! And why shouldnt people charge for anything that is not under warranty- they would probably like to be paid as well. After all do you work for nothing?
