i agree to those sentiments.
the sanyo's about 4 years old now - and while it was somethign amazing and ahead of it's time, the nokias are a better choice.

Nokia have produced their fair share of dud products but, at the end of the day, I agree that they are miles ahead in terms of usability and functionality. Why is it that demand for the Sanyo 8100 has outstripped supply despite the fact that it is $100 more expensive than the superior Nokia 3205? And when, if ever, are Telecom going to release the Sanyo 8200?

IMO, Nokia and Samsung are the only brands that Telecom offer that anyone could take seriously.

i presonally don't like nokias anymore
the interface was wonderfully intuitive back when the phone did about 4 things - but now they have a dozen options on each menu and navigating the menus is a pain.
Nokia's are missing basic features like mapping a functon to a button, and using numbers to navigate the menus doesn't quite work on non-symbian nokias.
nokia need to re-think their UI.

joe_90, looks like telecom rnb ringtones have been updated, inc. Tupac And Dr Dre , Tone Loc , LL Cool J , Wu Tang Clan & other RnB.

Agree with alasta on most points.

8200 will probably not be released in NZ. 7400 due to be released very soon.

Samsung phones are great these days compared to the early peices of dog tucker TNZ bought out.

samsung phones are of a different flavour to the sanyo..

the sanyo, kyocera and hyundai follow sprint standards,
the nokias follow their own standards (and on sprint they're mostly voice only, telecom put the effort in to get sms and MMS working)

samsung are something else again.

Definitley a 6225 if you want to do lots of photo messaging. Also, the Sanyo wont remember your setting for T9 predictive text, you have to set it each time you want to use it (or it defaults back to multi tap).

I have owned both phones, and am impressed with both however.
