In the About Phone, the Software Channel is RETANZ. Hope it makes sense. What does this mean? Thanks

Retail NZ.

That's better than I expected. Means there should be some Nz specific vowifi/carrier settings.

Does mean finding a new firmware that isn't OTA to sideload is more out of question. Outside seeing if their support app is able to obtain it directly as part of the recovery/update process.

@Mrcutiepatootie, it so happens that I checked with someone who has a Motorola G34 5G phone this morning. The phone was bought in Aug 2024 and has received the Android 15 update. The security patch is up to 1 May 2025.

Mine's been stuck on September 1, 2024 security update since the update stopped working so I never bothered. I'll just have to do the software recovery when there's time. Thanks for letting me know.

I just ran the Motorola's Software Fix as suggested by their support. It identified my IMEI and Model name correctly but says "Sorry, there is no available firmware for your device at this time". What a disappointment!

At a lost now, other than going back to Motorola's hopeless support or return the phone to the retailer.

Just an update. The phone was updated early this morning to Android 15 and security update to May 2025 automatically. So all good now. Hopefully future updates will be more timely.
