Oh and sorry, Someone told me that the import phones can sometimes have physical differences, like japanese writing on it like on the keys or somewhere else on the phone, is this the case with the V802SE? or is it purely firmware?

Thanks

Contact me by email (tim@muppetz.com) if you're interested in getting your phone done.

I think you might be right about the V802se having Japanese Characters on the phone's keypad too. I haven't seen one, but it would make sense seeing as the phone is sold in Japan! :)

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

Don't quote me on this but I think the V802 firmware does not have the POP/IMAP Email client on it.

I found some pics of the V802SE and it does have japanese characters on it, to the extent that I couldnt stand it. Which is a shame, I wonder if the people importing them in to NZ can change them or something? Anyway I see Student shop has it on Coming soon on their site, I think i'll email them to ask them for an actually date and price.

Student shop says they will have the V802 in about 2 weeks, so it seems like the only way you will be able to buy the V800 is from Vodafone NZ so its bound to be about a grand or something since vodafone like ripping people off.

I have never being ripped off by vodafone, I know the price before I use a sevice if I don't know I look at the web site or ask them. If you don't like the price of a service don't use it. So I would say vodafone is not to blame here

I just mean that Vodafones prices for phones are really high, in comparison to Telecom and importers prices.

Ambrose1, Telecom's phone is cheap because telecom subsidised it a lot to get the phone out there in hope more people will use it. But then you will have term contract that locked you in for so many months.

Vodafone used to subsidise it with a term contract, but not anymore, you are paying more for the phone but you are not locked to terms.

Beside, with vodafone, you are more than welcomed to get phones from overseas and use it on Vodafone network. Whereas with telecom you are required to have the phone installed with Telecom NZ's firmware (if there is any) in order to use them locally.

you decide.
