heavenlywild: Would you need to pay any duties and taxes on these phones? I know you pay GST but the phone is still exported from another country?

I didnt pay any extra costs.

Yeah I have some hope now too.. if I have to pay 12.5% tax on this phone, when it was only about $15 cheaper than other places in New Zealand.. I'm going to feel a little suckered in. (It was finally billed to my credit card as $910 nzd today, including shipping and credit card fees.. despite the phone itself only costing $867).

$925 nzd.. free shipping, including GST. You can bank it into their bank account, avoiding that 3% credit card fee.

Giggs: As eXDee noted it is an Australian company so the phone will be shipped into NZ. The price does not include GST as they are Aussie based so you maybe hit with that when the phone comes into the country. Its a bit random, some people seem to be charged and others don't.

Re the CGA I don't think it matters where the goods are sold from but as they don't appear to have a physical presence here I don't see how it could be enforced.

GST is handled by Mobicity providing you buy from the .co.nz domain. I sent them an e-mail regarding the same issue and their reply was..

Thanks for your email.

All GST costs are taken on by Mobicity, so you are not liable to pay anymore than what is requested once you checkout on our website.

Thanks

Ordered from the .com.au domain and they still took care of GST and i got to use SN10/TYV20 for a further $20 off :)

it arrived today, and had no tax to pay. I am very very happy now. :) My apologies to mobicity. Their service was great. I was just unsure about tthe tax thing.

I cant wait for this phone to finish charging for the first time. Anyone know how long its supposed to take?

Congrats! With phones these days you won't need to charge it for 12 hours anymore. Once it's charged, it's charged.

eXDee, those codes seem to be working on the .co.nz site too.  Do they not honour it if used there or something?  It seems to be giving NZ$24 odd off, which is about 20 AUD.

By the way noticed they are giving away free accessory for Aussie elections on some phones. Choice of: leather case, screen protector, car charger, bluetooth headset.

I had a chat with them using their "live chat" function and got a note from them at the end of the conversation with the latter code (TYV20) saying that ("in appreciation" for using the chat service!) it could be used with any phone.  So I would assume that would apply to anyone using that code?

Hmmm, doesn't work for me.  I wonder if it is just a one off?

I just tried it on several (almost) random models on the .co.nz site, including Galaxy S and Desire, and it appeared to work on all.
