I saw a few that passed though here while in PTC'ing, and all had MMS disabled on the handset. Nokia's CDMA county manager for Aus and NZ said that MMS is disabled on the 6585 and 3105. First with MMS will be the 6225 in Feb
I heard Nokia's MMS build on the 6585 &3105 wasnt going to be ready in time for Telecoms MMS launch - sounds like they had a bit of work to do to get it going right.
I bought a Slider the other day (I decided the camera on the TX-95 would be no use to me without a flash).
I do have a couple of gripes about the Slider. Overseas reviews of the Slider suggest that it supports WAP 2.0, but it seems that the software on Telecom's Sliders only supports browsing in black and white (i.e. WAP 1.2). I was also disappointed that Telecom's WAP site (as far as I can see) doesn't feature any polyphonic ringtones for this handset. The ergonomics aren't great either; the surface of the keys is totally flat and the handset is awkward to hold while on a call.
Otherwise, it's all good. The quality of the display is excellent (thanks to the fact that it's 65,000 colours and high resolution), the build quality is very solid, and it looks stunning. I'd say it's an ideal handset for anyone who doesn't need bleeding edge technology, but wants something trendy and reliable. However, on a tight budget, the colour Phantom is probably better value.
The slider is colour, but the browser is only WAP1 (wml)
So, you may have seen it mentioned that the slider supports "colour WAP", which is technically true, but telecom has not put colour images on any of their WAP1 sites. (they'd have to do lots of messy device detection, not to mention graphic design and such).
it's still a groovy phone :-) I wish it didn't have the external aerial, i suppose that will help reception for out of towners (do country ppl want cool phones?)
