I just rang telecom, and they told me the Nokia 6165 is now available. But I should check if my local store has stock yet.

Yeah, it's back on the telecom site now too... Dang, I just purchased another phone - wish I'd waited.

if you buy one, take a close look around the display, check that there are not gouges near the little plastic bits and that the displays are not dusty. I have pulled mine to bits to fit a 6155 screen and it was no easy feat.

I knew that would happen, to someone at least. I was going to buy the Nokia 2865 on wednesday, which phone did you buy?

I ended up just getting the 2125 - it was only $99, so I'll probably just sell it then buy the 6165

That depends on how the store is processing your transaction. If it is a standard upgrade (i.e. the phone you purchased does not come with a preconfigured number) then it should not take more than 4 hours from the time the store submits the transaction. How ever this usually takes about 5 to 10 miniutes.

For a new connection (not preconfigured) again upto 4 hours but usually 5 to 10 miniutes.

For an ESN swap (i.e. preconfigured number placed on your existing habdset your number on the new handset) then upto 8 hours but again should not take this long.

For a disconnection of a preconfigured number and ESN change to your existing number again upto 8 hours but in reality this hardley ever takes the full 8 hours.

For mobile number portability then 24 hours is the normal.

Hope this helps?
