Signed up just so I could reply to this thread - I went to purchase a TC115c, because Telecom are having a sale, and have reduced the price to $299. When I spoke to the salesman, he told me that there had been numerous incidents with a batch of Wellington versions, and that Auckland ones seem to be fine, so he is shipping me one down.

Im fine with all the little problems (eg, I dont use predictive text, so the dictionary thing should be fine) but its the crucial bugs that will have be returning it (not being able to send pxt's, not beeping upon reciving a text, etc.) Ill be using it for quick phone calls to land lines, texting, games (I know its not big on games, but Im fine with it - Ill make do with Bejeweled!) and taking photos.

Are the problems that massive that I should not bother getting this phone? Or will it be fine for my purpose?

I bought one in Wellington about a month after they were released, and I'm pretty happy with it generally. The only major gripe that I had was with the wrong ringtone sounding for some incoming calls but, if you check above, a fix has been found.

I also find it mildly annoying that it doesn't default to T9 input when producing a new text message, and it doesn't automatically capitalise the first character of each sentence like most handsets do but I don't use text messaging much, so I don't really have too much of a problem with it. Also, you can add words to the T9 dictionary; see my earlier post.

For $300, it's a good deal.

Personally i'd go for the Nokia 3205 unless the Clamshell design is really important. I haven't heard anyone complain about the Nokia 3205 at all and the camera is just as good.

Alasta, there is a setting within the phone to make txt input T9 default, I have it set to default on my handset. Not sure where it is though =S

Thanks for the dictionary tip, my major gripe is now the fact that it often does not beep when txts come through. I txt heaps, so this is incredibly frustrating......

Thanks, dude. I had a play and it's not under the main settings menu but, if you go to 'setting' under the 'messages' menu, then there's a setting titled 'entry mode'.

What would I do without you guys? :)

I now wish I had found this forum before I bought my [hyundai tx-115c] ... everything is going fine with mine with the exception I can't for some reason or rather can't download or save pxt's that are sent from other fones and whats worse they are from other Hyundai Mobiles. I get as far as opening the txt message and then a 'goto link' then when the picture loads and the only options are either menu or download and when clicking on download I get a message saying: [ "Download not supported for this handset" ] what is up with that .. lol if anybody else has a solution to my problem it would be greatly appreciated .. lol. The booklet that came with it isn't much help either.

:D I popped into the telecom shop to see if they could let me know if something was wrong with my pxts not being able to be downloaded her response was that its a networking problem they're having at the moment since their american phones and something about networks and my question to her was "why sell a product if its not fully functional?" ... she laughed and just said it wasn't a problem with my phone apparently alot of [Hyundai tx-115c] owners have been calling in for the same reason. So she was no help really, I played around with my phone a bit and found another way around my own problem and discovered I could download my recieved pxt's on my Online Photo Gallery to my phone.

I have a TX95C and it disconnects from the network every so often as welll.
It is very annoying.
The indicator actually shows that I have signal when in fact I have dropped off the network completely. It's ridiculous! Although most of the time I can reconnect by switching my phone off and then on again, it is a big hassle.

Well, the problem didn't orrur until a while after I got my phone, now I've had it for more than half a year. There is no way that I'd get getting a replacement and I don't really feel like leaving my phone there for 10 working days.
A lot of shop assistants just try to put you off fixing yourself phone when they don't actually know much themselves.

Hi I just joined this forum because I have some issues with my new Tx115c...Different to what you guys have... you have a problem with your phone not always beeping.... I can't shut mine up. For no reason The phone emitts 3-4 beeps consecutavely, and then stops for 5-30 minutes (it varies). I have cought my phone in this illicit act, anbd there is nothing on the display, so I turned all the service alerts off, and it still happened... any thoughts on this?

Also my phone book is weird, it theels my the correct number of people in ech sub group, except "All" and "etc." which have (an upside down ?)followed by 35 (there at 90+ in my phone), and 3/4 59 for etc.

This is really weird, even thought I have numbers in my phone of people I hate (there so I don't answer them), I still would not want to chop them into quarters!

Any help would be really appreciated.
