I'm having serious Issues with my phone.

1: It Locks up when using the flash
2: it Freezes Occasionally when it's in my Pictures - In Camera.
3: I get "Card signs" of Spades,Clubs and Diamonds when I get txts alot of the time.
4: Photo Messages take 2 Minutes to send at times
5: it Locks up when exiting the WAP browser.

Does anyone know how to cure and of these Issues, because Telecom won't do a damn thing.

I think it's unlikely that you'll find a magic DIY fix for problems like this. Perhaps you should go back to the dealer and remind them that, under the consumer guarantees act, they are obliged to repair it within reasonable time or replace it.

If the problems are networked related, then it's fair for them to say that it's out of their control. However, apart from the delays with photo messages, it's pretty obvious to me that the problems that you're experiencing are problems with the handset and not the network! I've certainly never had the problem you describe with playing card characters appearing in text messages on my TX115.

I'd recommend that you take a look at http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/consumerinfo/cga/index.html. Once you have a clear idea of what your rights are, then you should be in a better position to convince them to rectify your problems. If they still won't budge, then it's going to be a job for the disputes tribunal, I'm afraid!

Good luck.

my friend and i both bought one a few weeks ago. now when you open the screen on them it takes a few seconds for the screen to light up. he said his started this last week and mine started it on the weekend.

the other thing i think mine is doing is only ringing sometimes when i get messages...

does anyone else have these problems?

I haven't had any of these specific problems with mine but, since you mention this, you have reminded me of a similar problem that I have had. When a particular caller rings me, the ringtone is different from the one that I have set. When other callers phone, the correct ringtone appears to play.

Obviously, I have checked that there is no distinctive ringtone set for this contact, and I don't know what else could be causing this. I'm starting to wonder if this handset has a few serious software bugs.

yeah the screen takes about 3 seconds to light up! and the ringtones are so low even on high. I think you are right about the software bugs.

If, indeed, it is buggy software, then I would hope that Telecom would have an upgrade available in the future. Does anyone know if it is standard practice for Telecom to offer such upgrades for free in cases like this?

Apparently not. Ring up 0800 TELECOM or send your phone back if it really annoys you and get the Retailer to replace it.

Hey I was just reading your probs with the Hyundai tx115c. Are the text messages your getting clubs and spades on from SIEMENS brand 021s only? Ive had a similar problem with a different phone. But Ive established the only time I get the clubs is from that brand of 021 and because they can recive my text messages Im wondering wether its a problem with the format of outgoing text messages from that particular brand of phone.

Might be worth finding out.

Firstly, the reason why you're getting "clubs" etc, is because Vodafone people are sending you multi-txts, i.e., more than one txt within the one message screen. You might know, you might not, that many Vodafones allow you to send up to three txts within one message screen. Hyundais do NOT like this at all, my tx95c had the exact same problem.

Alasta, your problem is probably happening because the caller does/doesn't have caller ID. You'll find that the 115c has a different ringtone setting for calls which display caller ID, to ones that have caller ID blocked. Change it, and you're set.

Now, MY main bitch is that the predictive txt will no longer save words! On my 95c, I was able to save words like "Hehe" and "LOL" in the predictive thingy, but now I can't, and this REALLY bugs me. And piperdale you're right, sometimes it doesn't ring/vibrate when you get a message. The Hyundais are damn buggy phones. Wish I'd got the new Nokia now...

Thanks for the suggestion Spazz but, unfortunately, I have already checked that the correct ringtone is set for both identified and anonymous callers. I have also checked that the 'roam ringer' (whatever that is) is not set to distinctive, as this seemed to cause some problems as well.

I haven't used the phone enough to really notice a pattern with this problem, but I'm starting to get the feeling that all calls from people in my phone book are coming through with the wrong ringtone while other calls come through with the correct one. This makes me wonder if there is a different ringtone assigned to a particular 'group' of callers, but I can't find any way to do this.

I think I'll have to do some experiementation this weekend and I'll let you know if I find a solution.
