I just brought the n85 off ebay for $625nzd. The seller said he would declare is at a lower value so I may not have to pay gst.

qraider:
xrajux: Expert Infotech has the phone listed for $741.30 inc gst on their website, they are auckland based.

The only issue with that one is it may not be XT compatible. They list the Operating frequency as Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, no UMTS 850.

i gave them a call to check if it is compatible....
and according to them they have done the imei check available to telecom's website and the phone should work on the XT Network.....

You are better off asking them for the model number under the battery and googling to check for yourself to be sure. This is assuming it is the same as E71 which has either E71-1, E71-2 or E71-3 under the battery.

The IMEI checker on the Telecom site says my E71-1 is OK for XT but I know it isn't, it needs to be the E71-3.

The first one has "3G HSDPA 900/1900/2100 MHz " = best for Vodafone, the 2nd one is specified as for "Telecom XT" so instead of 3G 900MHz it will have 3G 850MHz and maybe the 1900 and/or 2100 as well.

I'm selling my Nokia N85 for $1 reserve that I won this week thanks to Vodafone's 'Find the 3G Guy'

I'd rather get a netbook, any recommendations?

One of the reasons I was interested in this phone was the FM transmitter. Has anyone had experience of using this feature? Is the quality OK? I have tried a nasty cheap FM transmitter before but between the engine noise from the car and the noise of the phone registering to the network it was unusable.

Just spotted this: $740 including GST. Competition has arrived.
