I'd have no idea what it was. possibly ice cream? :-P it's a pic I took ages ago (the camera on my samsung is actually stuffed now) but i'll probably buy a new phone now the interconnect works!

Getting easy numbers is a matter of first in first pick, I nabbed it on the day they released 7 digit numbers on 025. (I worked at DSE doing t'com connection then) all good.

Now remember to check out the pricing there may be a different rate from 021 to 027 or vice versa

Telecom are good about "premium numbers" they let anyone have them if available.

Vodafone are quite an@l regarding it and have "gold" numbers which are reserved for big companies etc. they should Sell them.. it'll give anyone whom wants one the opportunity to obtain one.

I asked for 021 XXX XXXX (my number) but was told it was not avalable for allocation and that I could not have it (even after presenting my $400 bill and offering to switch). The next day it was connected, I assume they grabbed it themselves or for a friend. hmmmm

in Australia you can "obtain them" for a fee ranging from $100 a year to many thousands, though a bit of hunting got me 0406 666333 (or similar) and a pile of very close ones ($2 prepaid packs from Woolworths!) which was better than almost any of the "premium" numbers they actually offered me for their "fee"

Perhaps. Johnr can make suggestion to Vodafone NZ about launching Premium number service? i am sure there are good protion of people willing to get good number for their phone and will be willing to pay for it too.

I sure like to get a Word number...

bit OT but I don't know alot about the gold number range to be honest asking the wrong person beside MNP is coming in anyway as advised by the media and other groups.

Yip.. Finished off with 5 days in San Francisco doing a bit of shopping. Was a bit disappointed by the lack of geek stores though so ended up buying very little. The 62" Plasma was a bit too heavy to carry from Best Buy back to the hotel and I was worried it would take me over my baggage limit ! :-)

Interestingly, the front page of Vodafone's web site features a promo for 021-027 PXT/Photo Messaging. Looks like it's finally happening.

I can't see anything similar on Telecom's site, but no doubt they will be keen to promote the service in due course.

Something new to me is the 50c to send overseas on Vodafn.. i'm sure it was 20c! can anyone clarify? though it's good to see a Video PXT finally a decent price now, $1 was too much.
